Search Engines Optimization (SEO) : Part 1

In this first part of this course I will try to introduce you to Search Engines Optimization (SEO) referring to a guide published by Google on the subject. This guide is designed and intended for the employees of Google to help them understanding the mechanisms to optimize their search engine, but I thought it would be equally as useful to webmasters that are new to the issue of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and wish to improve their interaction websites both users and search engines. However, this guide does not tell you a secret that will automatically rank your website first for queries in Google (I'm sorry! but it's not possible, doesn't exist!). If you follow the practices and recommendations described in this topic, it will be easier for search engines to explore, understand and index your content.

The Search Engines Optimization (SEO) is frequently about making small changes to parts of your website. When taken individually, these changes might seem like progressive improvements, but when combined with other optimizations, they could have a significant impact on the user experience of your website and the performance of your website in the organic search results. You are probably already familiar with most of the practices in this topic, as they are essential ingredients for any web page, but you can not make the most out of them :D

Search Engines Optimization (SEO) : Part 1

Even if the title of this post contains the words "Search Engine", I would like to say that you must base your optimization decisions first on what's best for your website visitors! They are the primary consumers of your content and don't forget that they use search engines to find your content. If you focus too much on specific settings to get the best ranking in the organic results of search engines may not give the desired results. The search engine optimization (SEO) is to put the best foot of your website before when it comes to visibility in search engines, but your final consumers are your users, not search engines.

Your website can be structured differently and offer a very different content, but optimization practices which we'll discuss in this course should apply to the websites of all sizes and types.
